As an emerging artist I seek opportunities to expand my artistic practice. I take advantage of mentorship and guidance opportunities at CSUSB and utilize the studio space to create my body of work. As I continue to develop my practice I am developing my artistic style and approach while fostering new skills.

10/2023 Nicho Design, Raíces Cultural Center Coachella, CA
In working with Raíces Cultural Center I designed a nicho, altar, for display at their Dia De Los Muertos exhibition at Sunnylands Gardens in Palm Desert,CA. The nicho will also be used throughout year round events in the Coachella Valley. The concept behind the design was to serve as gratitude to the ancestors who participate in our lives still.
10/2023 Event Logo Design- Palm Springs Art Museum Palm Springs, CA
The Palm Springs Art Museum commissioned me to do a logo design for their Dia De Los Muertos community event. I designed a logo that was used for event promotion, merchandise, and public activity.
09/2023 - Present Education and Community Engagement Department
Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Springs, CA
Working in the education and community engagement department, I help setup and support staff during museum events. Set up includes staging and maintaining activity spaces. I ensure event participants are supported and needs are met. During events I maintain clear communication and work quickly to solve problems when needed. I also serve as a liaison for the museum, I answer questions and engage with museum visitors and participants. As a liaison I seek to develop community relationships.
09/2023 Family+ art activity: Keychain making
Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Springs, CA
This activity was created for about 120 participants. As part of a back to school theme, I created a keychain making activity. I supplied participants with keychain hardware, charms and beads to adorn the keychain hardware. During the activity I provided instruction and helped with concept development and implementation. In creating this activity I was able to make meaningful connections with participants.
05/2023 Family+ Art Workshop: Assemblage sculpture
Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Springs, CA
In leading a public workshop at the Palm Springs Art Museum I prepared for 100 participants, sourced materials, and developed instruction. During the workshop I facilitated construction of sculptures through one on one support and a well curated materials. In working one on one I was able to create positive interactions with community members.
04/2023 Traffic Box Artwork, Palm Springs Public Arts Commission
Sunrise way x Tachevah Palm Springs, CA
After submitting two project proposals to the Palm Springs Public Arts commission, I was selected to paint one of my submissions. I prepared the traffic box and painted a mural on it and retouch when needed.
03/2023- Present Lead Art Educator, Desert X Art club
Coachella Valley, CA
I play an essential role as a lead teacher in Desert X’s pilot after school program. As a lead educator, I assist in curriculum development and implementation of art projects that center around art fundamentals, site specific work, and public art. I also work one on one with elementary and middle school aged youth. In doing so I've learned how to structure lessons, instructions, and how to adapt to student needs and interests. Desert X provides studio visits and exhibition tours which I chaperone.
